Those things are a very rare sight indeed, especially in excellent shape.
And yes, I’m confused about the NJ plate as well.
Also, the Fiat reached 73k km today. It’s almost a big boy now :,)

Hmm, I saw that one on a discovery show about engines, but can’t remember what the car is called.

I don’t know what you think it is, but it’s neither a beaver nor a hockey stick.

It’s an FSO Syrena!

Funnily enough, the Syrena that was featured on Wheeler Dealers was done so badly 2 years later it returned to a somewhat similar TV show in Poland (where they help people fix interesting cars) and it was in a pretty horribel shape. Rust spots and paint runs everywhere, panels fitted so badly they were taking off chunks of paint, exhaust completely rusted through, and the car wasn’t even running. Not to mention the fact that they replaceed the original radio (which would have worked even on the modified electrical system) with some Chinese retro-look POS.
I’m currently watching that episode of the Polish show.

It’s a Syrena isn’t it? If I remember correctly the engine is either a DKW copy, or it is very similar.

Tak.
That two stroke or variations of it seems to turn up everywhere.

Yay Syrena! Pity parts are hard to come by or I would consider importing one of those too! :P

It’s one of those cars that’s almost completely unviable to run outside of Poland without extensive connections here.
